Starting fertility treatment can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to make sense of where to begin and what each stage involves. At ARGC, we believe in helping you understand not just the what and when, but the why behind each step so you feel informed, supported, and confident throughout your journey. Here’s what your treatment journey typically looks like with us, from your first conversation to post-transfer care.

1. Your free advisory call

Many patients begin their journey with a free advisory call. This is an opportunity to speak with one of our senior fertility specialists about your situation and goals. Together, you’ll discuss your fertility history, any previous treatments, and whether ARGC’s approach could be the right fit for you.

If you’re eligible to move forward, we’ll guide you through the next steps to book a consultation with one of our doctors.

2. Your initial consultation

During your consultation, your doctor will take time to understand your full medical history and review what has and hasn’t worked so far. This is a chance to ask questions, share your concerns, and begin exploring treatment possibilities tailored to you.

We’ll also talk through diagnostic tests and monitoring so we can gather a complete picture before starting any treatment.

3. Monitoring cycle (pre-treatment assessment)

Before we begin treatment, we first need to understand how your body works naturally.

Over the course of about a month, we’ll monitor your hormones and cycle — without any medication — using blood tests and ultrasounds. This helps us see your natural patterns and identify any factors that might affect your treatment.

The goal here is simple: to create a truly personalised plan based on your biology, not assumptions. No two bodies are the same, and neither are our treatment protocols.

4. Treatment cycle

Once we’ve gathered the data from your monitoring cycle, we’ll design a treatment plan that’s unique to you. This stage involves stimulating your ovaries to develop multiple follicles — and unlike most clinics, you’ll visit us daily (sometimes even twice a day) for blood tests and scans.

That might sound intense, but this high-frequency monitoring allows us to make real-time adjustments to your medication based on how your body is responding. It’s what makes ARGC different — precision care that evolves with you, every day.

5. Egg collection

When your follicles are ready, you’ll come into the clinic for egg collection. The procedure takes place under light sedation and usually lasts around 30 minutes. Our embryology team will then assess the collected eggs and prepare for the next stage: fertilisation.

6. Fertilisation and embryo transfer

In the lab, our embryologists carefully fertilise your eggs and monitor embryo development over several days. You’ll be kept updated as they grow and progress, and when the timing is right, embryos are transferred to the uterus — usually five or six days after collection.

The aim is to transfer embryos at the most optimal time to maximise your chances of success. Any additional embryos can be frozen for future use if appropriate.

7. Post-transfer and early pregnancy monitoring

After embryo transfer, we’ll continue to monitor your hormone levels to track your progress. If you become pregnant, we’ll support you through those early, often anxious weeks with ongoing tests and scans to ensure everything is developing as expected.

ARGC also offers extended support through Blue Door by ARGC, a remote monitoring service that allows you to track your hormones from home with guidance from our clinical team.
